(John Newton,

"The good news of salvation."
(Ephesians 1:13)

I’d like to tell you how as a child, by God’s grace, I saw that Jesus had died for my sins.

Instead of looking up at the sky and wondering if God was there – He was in my heart through faith.

I wept for the joy of knowing God; for this new relationship I had entered into; for the assurance that all my sins had been forgiven.

It is such a good thing to be able to pray to God in the name of Jesus and know that He hears and answers prayer; to read the Bible daily and know God’s leading and guiding.

I am truly thankful for the blessing of Christian marriage and family, and the opportunity of service.

I look back and say "He has done all things well." Whatever the difficulties, He has turned them into blessings.

What of the future? Jesus is preparing heaven for all who will come to Him. He says, "Come to Me, and I will give you rest." (Romans 11:28)

No wonder we talk of "The good news of salvation!" (Ephesians 1:13)

"Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost ,but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see."
(John Newton, hymn "Amazing Grace")
