"But you are rich."
(Revelation 2:9)

Many Christians are poor, for God has chosen the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of heaven, which He has promised to those who love Him. They are often persecuted and troubled. So was the church in Smyrna, but Jesus said to her, "You are rich." (Revelation 2:9)

So are all the Lord’s people. Rich by relation- God is their Father, and Jesus their elder brother. Rich by donation- Jesus has given them unsearchable riches. Rich by promise- the Lord has promised all good things.

You are rich! Jesus has given you His righteousness, to cover your sins; His blood, to cleanse you; His Spirit, to make you holy; His angels to help you and heaven to be your home.

Precious Saviour- teach me to love You more.

"Count your many blessings,
Wealth can never buy,
Your reward in heaven,
Nor your home on high!"
(Johnson Oatman Jr, hymn "When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed")
