The Believer's Daily Remembrancer
December 16

"The righteous will hold to his way."
(Job 17:9)

The way to heaven is difficult, and we may be weak. If we are justified by God’s grace, and sanctified by the Spirit of truth, and keep steadily on the Way, there is no doubt but that we’ll arrive in heaven; for "the righteous will hold to his way, and he who has clean hands will be stronger and stronger." (Job 17:9)

The true believer holds on, for he is secure in God’s promise; he is supplied from the fullness of our Lord Jesus and taught by the Holy Spirit.

Let us live near to Jesus and walk with Him. God will give "grace and glory." (Psalm 84:11)

"The righteous will hold to his way." (Job 17:9) They go from strength to strength, everyone of them appears before God in Zion.

"Saviour, since of Zion’s city
I through grace a member am,
Let the world deride or pity,
I will glory in Your name;
Fading are the world’s best pleasures,
All its boasted pomp and show;
Solid joys and lasting treasures
None but Zion’s children know."
(John Newton, hymn "Glorious things of thee are spoken")
