The Believer's Daily Remembrancer
August 29

"They all became drowsy and slept."
(Matthew 25:5)

Can you imagine the scene? The ten bridesmaids are waiting for the arrival of the bridegroom. They all have lamps, but only the five wise ones have enough oil. They all fall asleep- but at midnight there is a shout "Here’s the bridegroom." The wise are able to accompany the bridegroom to the wedding feast. The foolish were not ready and were locked out.

Jesus has promised to return. He has given us different work and abilities. We have the Bible, prayer and fellowship with other Christians to strengthen us.

Pray for God’s help to be strong to do His will and His work- and to overcome the devil’s plans to hinder us.

Jesus will come again! Are you excited? Are you ready?

"And soon the happy day shall come,
When we shall reach our destined home and see Him face to face;
Then with our Saviour, Master, Friend,
The glad eternity we’ll spend, and celebrate his grace."
(Wolfgang A. Mozart, hymn "The Matchless Worth")
