The Believer's Daily Remembrancer
May 07

"O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me."
(Isaiah 44:21)

Friends and family may forget us, but God assures us, in His great love and mercy, that He will never forget us.

Our names are in His book; our Representative, the Lord Jesus, is always before His throne and we are in His constant care. He cannot forget us while Jesus prays for us. There is only one thing that He is ever said to forget, and that is our sin.

He always remembers His covenant promises. He will not forget our circumstances, our needs or our prayers. But we only find satisfaction as the Holy Spirit humbles us, empties us, and exalts the Lord Jesus before us, showing us our pardon, peace and salvation in His life, death and prayers for us.

Let us, as God’s dear children, mind the things of the Spirit and daily pray to be humbled, revived and made holy.

"More about Jesus let me learn,
More of His holy will discern;
Spirit of God my teacher be
Showing the things of Christ to me."
(Eliza E. Hewitt, hymn "More About Jesus")
